PWEA Members Appointed to VEA Committees

Congratulations to the following PWEA Members on their appointments to VEA Committees! Their first meeting will be Saturday September 17th in Richmond.

Iysha Burt, a 5th grade teacher at Kerrydale ES, has been appointed to the Minority and Women's Concerns Committee for a 2 year term.

Gwen Edwards, a TSSPEC at Rippon MS and Dale City ES, has been appointed as Chair to the VEA Education Support Professionals (ESP) Committee for 2016-2018.  She was also appointed to the VEA Elections Campaign Practices Committee for a 1 year term, and to the 2017 NEA Convention Planning Team!

Ruby Grandison, a Special Education teacher at Woobridge High, has been appointed to the Special Education Committee for a 2 year term.

David Kinsella, a Special Education teacher at Osbourn Park HS, has been appointed to the VEA Legislative Committee for a 1 year term and to the Special Education Committee for a 2 year term.

Megan Link, a Librarian at Stonewall Jackson HS, has been appointed as Co-Chair of the VEA Credentials Committee for a 2 year term.

David Martin, a 4th grade teacher at Lake Ridge ES has been appointed to the VEA Fitz Turner Commission for Human Relations and Civil Rights for a 1 year term.

Erin Merrill, a Middle School Social Studies teacher at Pennington Traditional, has been appointed to the Instructional and Professonal Development (IPD) Committee for a 2 year term.

Riley O'Casey, PWEA President, has been appointed to the VEA Membership Committee for a 1 year term, the 2017 NEA Convention Planning Team, and the Minority and Women's Concerns Committee for a 2 year term.

Jennifer Rokasky, Energy Education Coordinator at Office of Facilities Services, has been appointed Co-Chair of the VEA Communications Committee for a 2 year term.

April Thomas, a TSSPEC at Belmont and Occoquan Elementary Schools, has been appointed to the Professional Rights & Responsibilities Commission for a 1 year term.

De'Shauna Thornton, a Social Studies Teacher at Forest Park High School, has been appointed to the Resolutions Committee for a 2 year term.

Amy Verner, a 4th grade teacher at Signal Hill ES, has been appointed to the Communications-Public Relations Committee for a 2 year term.

Tabatha Zarkauskas, a Science Teacher at Forest Park High School, has been appointed to the Resolutions Committee for a 2 year term.
