Geulia Boddie comes from a long family line of principals and educators. Her mother, a 35+ year teaching veteran, is currently a member of the Virginia Retired Teachers’ Association.
While Geulia initially chose a different career path, first working in the area of public communications and broadcasting, her heart led her to education. Geulia's passion is working one-on-one with students to help them plan for college.
Geulia first completed a BA in English & Communications from Fisk University in Nashville. She returned to Virginia, earning her MA from Hampton University, followed by her counseling certification from Old Dominion University. Geulia taught English in the Hampton Roads area for four years before becoming a high school counselor.
Geulia's desire to join the Prince William Education Association was sparked and encouraged by a family member's recommendation. She currently serves on the PWEA Scholarship Committee, taking great pleasure in awarding deserving Prince William County students and PWEA members funds to assist in their pursuit of higher education. As a high school counselor and parent of a college student, Geulia understands all too well the critical role of financial aid.
A proud mother of two, Geulia enjoys spending time with her family, especially when her son is home from college. She loves to try new recipes, whether it be in her kitchen or at a fledgling restaurant. Geulia is also in the process of training for her first 5K walk this spring.
